Clara Atkins

Clara teaches songs from around the world in a range of styles, with a preference for pieces
that tell a story or carry meaning, particularly around themes of nature, community and unity.
Her teaching style is clear, fun and lighthearted. She is able to guide a large group of singers
of mixed ability in song in a way that is satisfying and meaningful for all. Clara's expressive
voice and excellent musicality helps make learning songs with her an enjoyable experience.
Clara studied music at Bath Spa University specialising in jazz voice and performs with a
number of groups in Bath and Wiltshire including Cantamus Chamber Choir, Rolling
Harmony, GBH Big Band, as a classical soloist, and with her own jazz trio. As a performer,
she is known for her clear and expressive tone, often likened to Ella Fitzgerald.
Clara leads Clarity Choirs in Bath and Trowbridge, and runs Sing with Clarity singing
workshops. "I believe that singing brings people together; it breaks down all barriers and
connects us with the thing we all have in common: a voice. I find great joy in singing with
people."
